Martha Pollard, Director of the Therapy Dog Program

Martha Pollard

Martha Pollard lives in St. Louis, Missouri, with her husband Mike, two dogs—Arlo, a Giant Schnauzer, and Isla, a Golden Retriever—and two Cornish Rex cats, Gideon and Ivy. She treasures every moment with her three children, three grandchildren, and all her grand-pets!

After a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse and nursing leader, Martha has been happily involved with CHAMP since 2020. She is thrilled to serve as Director of the CHAMP Therapy Dog program, where she gets to support and celebrate the incredible dedication of our Therapy Dog volunteers every day.

When introduced to CHAMP, she instantly felt the special magic these teams create and is especially grateful for the volunteers’ selfless work, which brings so much joy, healing, and a comforting sense of safety to people throughout the community. She deeply believes in the heartfelt bond between animals and humans—one that offers unconditional acceptance and genuine connection.

She’s keeping her fingers crossed that her own Isla will one day join the ranks as a certified Therapy Dog! In the meantime, she feels truly honored to help coordinate this amazing group of teams and continue spreading the positive impact of Therapy Dogs throughout the greater St. Louis area.
