Presentations
CHAMP presentations are led by our Education Manager, dedicated staff, and passionate volunteers. Our programs bring the world of assistance and therapy dogs to life through engaging storytelling, hands-on demonstrations, and interactive conversations.
Our K–12 programs blend fun with purpose, teaching respect for all living beings while helping students understand disability awareness in an age-appropriate, impactful way. For businesses and corporate groups, we offer interactive presentations that highlight teamwork, accessibility, and the life-changing role of service dogs. Custom presentations for adult community groups are also available and can be tailored to meet the needs of your audience.
When you book a presentation with CHAMP, you will get a CHAMP representative to come to your organization with a well-trained dog(s) for demonstration and discussion on a variety of topics.
Pricing
Presentations are fee-based services.
- 30-60 minute presentation under 50 students/participants: $75.00
- 30-60 minute presentation 50-100 students/participants: $125.00
- 2 hours of presentations 100-300 students/participants: $250.00
- 3 hours of presentations 100-300 students/participants: $300.00
Presentation Topics by Age Group:
Pet Care (Ages 3 – 7)
Discuss and demonstrate the daily, weekly and lifetime needs of pets.
Scouting Badges (5-14)
Teams work with leaders and scouts of all ages (Webelos to Eagle, Daisy, Brownies, etc.) to achieve their goal of earning a badge or performing community service.
Ability Awareness (Ages 8 – Adult)
Compare and contrast assistance, therapy, and emotional support dogs, including training and skills of each, and a skills demonstration.
How to Safely Greet a Dog (All Ages)
Learn and practice how to approach a dog and interact safely. May be included with other programs.
What is a Service Animal? (All Ages)
Learn the regulations defining an assistance/ service animal, typical types and the jobs they perform, sources for dogs, what makes a great service dog.
What is a Therapy Dog (all ages)
Learn about the difference between a therapy dog & service dog. Hear about the impact therapy dog teams are making across our community. Learn how to make your pet into a therapy dog.
Demonstration of Service Dog skills (all ages)
Included in presentations that have an emphasis on service dogs. See an education dog “show off” their service skills & learn about how service dogs help their human clients.
Demonstration of Therapy Dog Tricks (all ages)
Included in more general presentations about ability awareness or CHAMP, & for younger audiences. Watch a therapy dog “show off” how smart & obedient they are by doing entertaining tricks for the audience.
CHAMP at local businesses (adults)
Work with CHAMP to schedule therapy dog teams to come to your business to boost morale & decrease anxiety in the workplace. Book a presentation about the therapeutic benefits of dogs as part of the business wellness program for employees. Learn about puppy raising in the workplace.
Therapeutic Benefits of dogs (adults)
Presentation for adults reviewing the research about how dogs affect us physiologically, psychologically, socially, emotionally, cognitively, & physically. Learn about the impact dogs make on our quality of life & how the human-canine bond can decrease anxiety & increase a sense of connection & belonging.
